Capsule filling

TGA licensed capsule filling and packing

DB Pharmaceuticals fills hard capsules for listed medicines (AUST L), vitamins and supplements at our TGA GMP licensed facility in Kings Park, Sydney. We blend your formulation, fill gelatin or vegan (HPMC) capsules in sizes 00, 0 and 1, then blister pack or bottle them with labelling in-house. Runs start from around 10,000 capsules, with typical lead times of 3 to 8 weeks once your formula is approved and materials are in stock.

How capsule filling works at DB Pharmaceuticals

  1. Formulation review. We check your formulation for manufacturability: how the powder flows, how much fill fits each capsule, and whether any ingredient needs special handling.

  2. Blending. Ingredients are dispensed against your approved formula and blended to specification in our solid dose suite.

  3. Encapsulation. The blend is filled into hard capsules, with in-process weight checks throughout the run.

  4. Packing. Capsules are blister packed or bottled, then labelled and cartoned in-house.

  5. Physical testing and release. Each batch is documented, physically tested and released for supply through our quality system.

Capsule options

  • Gelatin or vegan (HPMC) capsules. Choose to suit your product, your customers and your label claims. See our guide: Gelatin vs vegan (HPMC) capsules.

  • Capsule size and colour. We fill size 00, 0 and 1 hard capsules, with the size matched to your fill weight and the colour matched to your brand.

  • Minimum run. Runs start from around 10,000 capsules per product, which suits first launches, trial batches and practitioner ranges.

  • Lead time. Typically 3 to 8 weeks once your formula is approved and raw materials are in stock. We confirm timing with your quote.

  • Scaling up. The same formula, capsule and pack can move from a small first run to larger repeat runs without changing manufacturer.

  • Packing format. Blister packs or bottles. See Blister packs or bottles.

Listed medicines and supplements

We fill capsules for AUST L listed medicines under our TGA GMP licence, and for food-regulated supplements and nutraceuticals. The brand owner (sponsor) is responsible for the product’s regulatory status and ARTG listing; we manufacture to the specification you approve.
